Salary: £28,500 per annum plus Bonus and Veolia benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Location: Derby, DE24 8PX

What you'll be doing:

  • Ensure Quality, Health, Safety and Environment remains the number one priority within the transport operation, providing a safe workplace for employees.
  • Manage the service delivery on a daily basis, including the dynamic planning of work to vehicles/routes, proactively communicating with customers, maintaining contact with drivers throughout the day, and undertaking debriefs.
  • Ensure that Service excellence is delivered, this includes: Delivery of service, Recovery (next working day) and communication of non-service/missed lifts within company parameters.
  • Assist the Service Manager to identify routing efficiencies and capacity.
  • Effective container stock level control and customer and driver communication.
  • Assist the Service Manager to ensure People management processes and procedures are adhered to in line with company policies.
  • Deliver Toolbox Talks to drivers and operatives.
  • Conduct first stage formal investigations into accidents and incidents as directed by the Service Manager.
  • Adhere to and comply with all aspects of Operator Licence obligations.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of all drivers at the depot including compliance, performance and leave entitlements.
  • Work closely with the Service Manager to deliver depot KPI's.
  • Ensure that all safety concerns and near misses are logged on Ecoonline and closed off within the company's agreed timescales and quality feedback is provided to originators.

What we're looking for:

Essential:

  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of transport compliance and WTD.
  • Good communication skills communicating with people of all levels including drivers, frontline employees and customers.
  • Ability to organise a busy workload and operate at a fast pace.
  • Working with a quality management system e.g. ISO.
  • Managing transport compliance.
  • Experienced IT Skills, and the ability to adapt to Google operating systems.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience operating within a similar industry; waste/transport/logistics.
