What you\’ll be doing;
- Provide shift coverage to ensure continuous ERF operation
- Assist Shift Team Leader in monitoring and operating plant from Central Control Room
- Coordinate control room operations for consistent power production and steam turbine operation
- Take immediate corrective action during emergencies to limit risks
- Monitor and control process parameters, raw materials usage, and environmental emissions
- Safely shut down and restart plant sections according to procedures
- Perform emergency operations during unit trips and abnormal conditions
- Carry out lockout-tagout isolations and understand applied risk hazards
- Ensure compliance with Environmental Permit and report non-compliance
- Conduct routine plant inspections, adjustments, and data collection
What we\’re looking for;
- IT Literate
- An understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues would be an advantage
- Interested in mechanical & electrical plant with some experience of plant operations, ideally with experience as an Engineering role Appropriate NVQ for the duties of the post
- Experience gained through working in a continuous process environment, preferably with experience of working shifts.
- Able to operate, or train to operate a variety of auxiliary and fixed plant.
- Able to work a continuous rotating shift pattern, including adequate voluntary overtime to cover the workload and colleagues\’ absences.
- Self-motivated, able to prioritise tasks and work with minimal supervision.
- An effective team member, able to communicate well orally and in writing
- Flexible, with a creative approach to problem-solving
