Salary: £40,705.60 per annum, with an annual performance bonus plus Veolia benefits and pension

What you’ll be doing:
- Manage the Solihull geographical area and ensure high quality service provision within the entire borough.
- Manage staff at the main depot, including up to 105 skilled/unskilled operatives, plus seasonal staff, managing inductions and training.
- Manage allocation of staff, vehicles and equipment ensuring the site is being run efficiently and safely.
- Liaise with the workshop to ensure plant and equipment is maintained and serviced.
- Day to day running of the waste collection kerbside collection, bulky collections and deliveries.
- Work collaboratively as an active member of the contact management team with your peers in grounds maintenance, workshop, street cleansing and haulage departments.
- To fulfil other duties as instructed by the Senior Contract Manager.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in managing, motivating and coaching a large number of employees.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
- People management, team leader skills, and good interpersonal skills.
- Experience with budget management and cost control.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly developed IT skills, e.g. Microsoft Office, Google, and an ability to learn how to interact with software systems and new technologies.
- Waste collection management experience (Desirable)
- Qualified Driver Assessor to assess driving capabilities of operatives (Desirable)
- IOSH managing safely qualification (Desirable)
