Salary: £34,703.10 per annum DOE plus shift allowance £8675.08 and Veolia benefits

Hours: 12 hour shifts, four on six off (incl nights)

What you'll be doing:

  • Operate the plant according to schedule and maintain discharge water quality per permit specifications
  • Collect and analyse samples per work instructions; adjust flows and chemical dosing based on results
  • Calibrate instrumentation and troubleshoot plant issues with team support
  • Maintain accurate data collection, reporting, and order consumable replacements
  • Perform housekeeping and grounds maintenance
  • Report abnormal events to management per company procedures
  • Assist with COSHH/risk assessments and safety/environmental audits
  • Liaise with clients, authorities, agencies, contractors, and consultants
  • Comply with all health, safety, and statutory regulations
  • Provide standby cover and work flexibly to meet operational demands

What we're looking for:

  • Experience operating water treatment plants or chemical processes
  • Proficient with SCADA systems, standard software (Google/Microsoft), and PDA devices
  • Knowledge of Risk & Assurance principles (Risk Assessments, COSHH, PPE, Lone Working, Environmental awareness)
  • Competent in production monitoring, instrumentation calibration/validation
  • Strong administrative skills (logs, records, work orders, stock management)
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems
  • First-line maintenance capabilities (cleaning, greasing, calibration, condition monitoring)
  • Able to work independently and prioritise tasks, including alarm response and interpretation
