Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 09.00 - 17.30, Friday 08.00 - 16.30, plus occasional overtime

What you will be doing:
- Maintain strict health and safety standards by following site protocols and enforcing safe work systems
- Perform manual chemical waste repacking, including operation of pumps and compactors, with focus on high-hazard materials
- Process outgoing loads according to WM3/ADR regulations, including packaging, labeling, and documentation
- Manage waste pricing, bookings, and maximise profitability through strategic consolidation
- Oversee waste acceptance procedures, ensuring compliance with permits and reporting non-conformances
- Handle incoming loads efficiently, aiming for one-hour turnaround while maintaining quality control
- Conduct chemical processing activities including compatibility testing, blending, neutralisation, and waste segregation
- Perform laboratory testing and supervise site operations in absence of senior staff
What we are looking for:
- HNC/HND or higher educated in Chemistry (or relevant Science) essential - degree preferred
- Good knowledge of basic chemical hazards, with accurate on-the-spot assessment of risks and possible adverse reactions arising from site activities
- Health and safety minded, COSHH / IOSH desirable
- Experience in the waste management industry or chemical industry is desirable
- This job would suit a person who is willing to get "hands-on", with the majority of the work taking place outside in the open air rather than being laboratory based
