What you’ll be doing:
- Ensure the cost effective management of the services on the Bromley contract, including two Transfer Stations and two HWRCs.
- Manage a circa 30 employee workforce.
- Ensure the sites have competent operational staff who feel empowered and motivated.
- Ensure staff are fully trained and identify areas of training needed.
- Ensure KPIs are met to ensure financial penalties are not applied.
- Responsible for the safety of the workforce and ensuring a safety first culture is at the centre of activities and all HR processes are adhered to.
- Ensure material is dispatched as per waste flow requirements.
- Maximise and fully utilise the fixed and mobile plant on site.
- Ensure the budget is met, reviewed and costs are monitored.
- Ensure compliance on the contract.
- Work to reduce absence, accidents and injuries.
- Ensure effective management of any defects and ensure that all damage to property and vehicles is reported promptly.
- Maintain and evolve a partnership approach with council officers and the wider Veolia regional team acting as a key contact and deputising for the Senior Contract Manager, as required.
What we’re looking for:
- Essential: Experience of people management, developing and training teams.
- IOSH and good working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
- Experience within waste transfer services & the waste industry.
- COTC (Certificate of Technical Competence) Transfer Hazardous.
- Strong communication skills.
- IT literate with experience using operational management systems.
