Field-based around North West (ideal location M6 - Preston)

You will provide on-site corrective / preventative maintenance and offer after-sales technical and commercial support to existing water treatment chemical customers.

What you will be doing:

  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships with customers.
  • Providing service, chemical treatment analysis, monitoring and account management to existing customers / contracts.
  • Providing Legionella controls, ensuring customer compliance with ACOP L8 and offering recommendations for best working practices.
  • Gathering site information and compiling / maintaining site log books in preparation for client review meetings, customers and audits.
  • Initiating water treatment programs on new accounts and commissioning new dosing / control installations.
  • Completing risk assessments, work reports, and other associated documentation.
  • Looking for opportunities where appropriate to sell parts, consumables, plant upgrades and refurbishment work, with support from the sales teams.
  • Keeping customers informed on future product development, features and functions and showing them how they will add value to their business.
  • Highlighting any issues that may result in financial, reputational or operational impact on the Company.
  • Seeking guidance and support as required to ensure the service provided to our customers is a priority.

What we need from you:

  • Hold an HNC, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry (or similar discipline). Alternatively, if you have significant hands-on experience, we are open to candidates with a background as an Operations / Service Engineer or in Technical Support / Laboratory roles.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • Experience with chemical water treatment, (e.g. cooling tower management, boiler optimisation) is a must, or the desire to learn and grow in this area.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to manage challenging conversations, find solutions, and build strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage a diverse workload, and explain complex issues clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
  • IT proficient, with a keen eye for detail, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
