Overview District Heating Project Development Manager role at Veolia. You will lead District Heating Network (DHN) opportunities from concept through to project conversion, drive the technical strategy for district heating developments, and align with business growth objectives while positioning each DHN project for success in the sustainable energy sector. This is an opportunity to shape the future of district heating infrastructure and build robust delivery mechanisms for decarbonisation projects.
Location: Home based with 3 days travel to Veolia sites. Salary: Up to Β£75,000 per year, plus Car Allowance, Annual Bonus, Veolia Benefits & Pension (package above Β£90,000). Permanent, Full time.

As a District Heating Project Development Manager, you will lead DHN opportunities from concept through to project conversion, shaping the future of district heating infrastructure and building delivery mechanisms for decarbonisation projects.

Responsibilities:
- Guide projects through pre-qualification to construction handover, ensuring robust technical solutions
- Present technical solutions to clients, showcasing capabilities and addressing design challenges
- Prepare comprehensive tender packages and manage internal approval processes
- Assess technical and commercial viability of opportunities through Go/NoGo processes
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to develop competitive technical solutions
- Identify and manage project risks, ensuring appropriate risk allocation with partners
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship, fostering innovation and excellence in engineering
Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level within Mechanical Engineering
- Experience working within the energy industry and designing DHN energy systems
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering teamwork and engaging constructively with clients
- Proficiency in hydraulic modelling and energy analysis
- Experience with Heat Pump systems and renewables
- AutoCAD experience
- UK Driving Licence
