Are you a technically minded estimator who loves turning complex ideas into real-world solutions? We’re working with a forward-thinking industry leader known for innovation and quality, who’s looking for a Design Estimator to join their growing team. This is a key role where you’ll help bridge the gap between client vision and technical delivery — transforming project concepts into accurate designs and costings that drive successful installations.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing accurate materials and labour take-offs for a variety of technical projects.
- Creating and issuing detailed estimates, proposals, and technical submissions.
- Working closely with Sales and Project Fulfilment teams to evaluate risks and find smart solutions.
- Reviewing project specs and drawings to produce clear, cost-effective design estimates.
- Ensuring all designs meet quality, regulatory, and health & safety standards.
- Producing system renders, wiring diagrams, and schematics for active safety system designs.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 3 years’ experience in estimating, ideally within electrical or technology-based installations – e.g., CCTV, security systems, or similar.
- A relevant qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management or similar.
- Strong IT skills, including Excel and design tools such as CAD or Revit.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities — you’ll be collaborating across teams and with clients.
- Full UK driving licence (occasional site visits required).
- CSCS / SMSTS, IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications would be an advantage.
