This is a 6 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 3, 2026 with possible extension (12 months) and/or permanency.

The Deputy Principal Years 3 to 6 will ideally make a meaningful contribution to school improvement and student success. Working closely with the principal and leadership team, the Deputy Principal will play a key role in leading initiatives across teaching and learning, staff development and student wellbeing, while supporting a positive and inclusive school culture.

Experience in student services will be highly valued, particularly the ability to work collaboratively with the School Psychologist, Special Needs Education Assistants (SNEAs) and other support staff to strengthen whole‑school approaches to wellbeing, behaviour, inclusion and personalised learning. The successful applicant will ideally display strong relational leadership and the ability to build trust with students, staff and families. They will ideally lead with clarity and purpose, use data to inform decision making, and support staff to continuously improve their practice through coaching, feedback and collaborative planning.

We are seeking a leader who can ideally contribute to school improvement through:

  • Leading the implementation of evidence‑based teaching practices and whole‑school curriculum approaches in mathematics.
  • Driving initiatives that improve student progress in literacy and numeracy.
  • Supporting whole‑school behaviour and wellbeing approaches, including Positive Behaviour frameworks and restorative practices.
  • Promoting student voice and engagement across school initiatives.
  • Supporting programs that build social and emotional competence and wellbeing.
  • Contributing to a strong professional learning culture through Professional Learning Communities and collaborative planning.
  • Strengthening partnerships with parents, local organisations and secondary schools.

The successful applicant will ideally be a motivated and innovative educator with strengths in whole‑school curriculum leadership and student engagement. Highly developed interpersonal skills will enable them to effectively lead, support and build capacity across staff teams, including classroom teachers, specialist staff and education assistants.
