The South Metropolitan Regional Education Office is seeking to establish a pool of Administrative Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2026 and up to the end of July 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The South Metropolitan Education Region supports the Department of Education’s priorities across Western Australia and is committed to delivering high-quality public education services that support students, parents, and school staff.

The role provides administrative support to the Regional Office by undertaking a range of clerical, research, and operational support tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Responsibilities include:

  • Processing incoming and outgoing correspondence and enquiries
  • Drafting routine responses
  • Preparing basic reports
  • Supporting the day-to-day administrative functions of the office

The position is responsible for maintaining and administering databases, records, and management information systems, as well as ensuring accurate and effective corporate filing and recordkeeping practices. The role also supports office operations through:

  • Ordering supplies in accordance with relevant Common Use Arrangements (CUAs)
  • Processing accounts
  • Undertaking credit card reconciliations
  • Preparing financial reports as required

The role liaises with senior officers, Department staff, external agencies, and members of the wider community to support effective communication, service delivery, and administrative operations across the Regional Office.
