Reports to: Head of Operations and Company Manager, CEO’s, Creative Director
Reports: Deputy Venue Manager, Duty Manager, FOH/Operations/Merch/F&B Team
Venue Overview: Venues Everywhere are part of Immersive Everywhere who are hot off the heels of opening The Traitors: Live Experience in the heart of Covent Garden, London. Previous shows include Peak y Blinders: The Rise and Doctor Who: Time Fracture. We now look to bring our immersive talent to the north opening the brand new Peppa Pig Surprise Party in the Metrocentre, Gateshead.
Job Summary: The Venue Manager is responsible for managing the overall operations of the venue, staff coordination, and facility management. They work closely with production teams, clients, and vendors to ensure all performances and events are executed successfully while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for guests. The Venue Manager will also oversee the maintenance and cleaning of the building along with staff training and some Company Management.
Responsibilities
- Venue Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the space, managing the facility and equipment; ensure the venue is properly prepared, including setup, lighting, and sound; maintain cleanliness and safety standards, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Event Management: Act as the primary point of contact for shows, patrons, performers, and contractors; oversee performances, including ticket sales and any special needs for shows; troubleshoot issues during performances to ensure smooth operations.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise staff, including front-of-house staff, technical, security, and maintenance workers; coordinate staff schedules, assign tasks, and ensure excellent customer service is provided; ensure staff maintain a professional and courteous environment.
- Customer Service: Address customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback; ensure that the audience experience meets or exceeds expectations.
- Marketing & Promotion: Work with marketing teams to promote the venue and upcoming events.
- Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with all safety standards and emergency protocols; oversee crowd control, emergency exits, and evacuation plans during events.
- Company Management: Act as the on-site contact for cast and creative team members; create cast schedules; help facilitate any costume or prop requests that arise during the production; ensure the wellbeing and safety of all company members during the production; prepare and distribute company memos and notices related to rehearsals and performances as needed; handle correspondence and provide administrative support for the creative team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts Management, Theatre, a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in venue management, or a related field.
- Strong leadership, organisational, communication, and customer service skills.
- In-depth knowledge of theatre operations.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for events.
- Budgeting and financial management experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in entertainment venues.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with ticketing systems and event management software.
- Technical proficiency with theatre equipment (sound systems, lighting, etc.).
- DBS Enhanced check (will be needed for the role and will be done by company if required).
Salary: £40,000
Work: up to 45 hours per week
