The Role
We are looking for an experienced Events Co-ordinator with a passion for supporting the delivery of exceptional and memorable events. Your role will be to take clients from their initial enquiry, helping them to design what they want from the event, costing and arranging all of the detail, up to handing over to the hospitality department to deliver the perfect event. The event itself might be anything from a small corporate meeting to a conference, a team building day or a wedding. Or it might be an open ticketed event, offering you a really varied role with a uniquely versatile venue. You will typically be taking enquiries, showing prospective clients around the venue, guiding them through options to achieve the event they want within their budget, and then arranging all of the details and suppliers, culminating in a smooth handover to the hospitality department who will deliver the event. Whilst most of your job will be carried out during normal business hours, some client meetings are likely to be held on evenings or weekends, so you will need the flexibility to accommodate this.
About You
You must have at least 2 years experience of planning and organising events and a genuine passion for the work you do. You will be the first point of contact for the client up to the event itself, so must possess a professional manner and excellent communication skills, whether written, over the phone or in person. You understand operational requirements that go with running events, such as accessibility, licensing, health and safety; along with the commercial understanding of how to ensure the event is achievable and within budget targets. It is a busy department, and there can be a lot of detail to juggle, especially with multiple varied events to organise concurrently, so strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential. You will be comfortable with IT, and understanding of CRMs (ideally Events 500) will be an advantage, although training will be provided.
In return, we offer
- salary of £28,000 - £30,000
- bonus scheme
- use of our excellent gym and leisure facilities
- free parking
- discounted food at our restaurant
- free hot drinks
- a friendly working environment with a truly independent and forward-looking not-for-profit organisation, where all profits are put back into the business
If this sounds like the opportunity you’ve been looking for, and you meet the criteria, we’d love to hear from you! Please send your CV and covering letter telling us why you are the right person for the job. We’re looking for attention to detail - if you don’t follow these instructions, you will not be shortlisted!
You MUST be legally entitled to reside and work in the UK to apply for this role. We do not hold a license for visa sponsorship.
