We are seeking a SQL Developer (Snowflake) to join our client on an initial 2-month contract.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Data Team and business stakeholders, working on the client’s Snowflake Data Warehouse.
You will be responsible for developing and optimizing their data warehouse by ensuring data integrity and developing efficient SQL queries and scripts.
Responsibilities:
- Designing, development and maintenance of complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting
- Collaboration with stakeholders to fully understand their data requirements and translate them into effective database solutions
- Optimizing database performance, tuning SQL queries and data storage strategies
- Troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues promptly
- Implementing and maintaining data security measures to protect sensitive information
- Creating and updating database documentation, including data dictionaries and schema diagrams
Requirements:
- Strong experience as an SQL Developer
- Strong Proficiency in SQL query writing and optimization
- Familiarity with relational database management systems e.g., SQL Server
- Good knowledge and experience of Snowflake Data Warehouse
- Experience with data modelling and schema design
- Experience with ELT/ETL processes
- Knowledge of database design principles and normalisation
- Familiarity with data warehousing/OLAP data modelling patterns
- Understanding of database security best practices
Desirable requirements:
- Experience writing Java or JavaScript
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git)
