Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Information Protection Consultant with deep expertise in Microsoft Purview, Unstructured Data, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Insider Risk Management to join our client on a Part-Time consulting contract.
The successful candidate will support two projects, advisory and delivery-focused aimed at strengthening their data governance and security posture through Microsoft technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic guidance and best practice support across:
- Auto-labelling within Microsoft Purview and its practical implementation
- Review and development of DLP use cases, including sanity-checking pre-existing ones
- Best practices for verifying labelled data against defined use cases
- Advisory support on Insider Risk Management, tailoring it to the client’s context
- Lead a comprehensive Discovery engagement to assess and plan for a Microsoft Purview pilot implementation. Activities include:
- Facilitate workshops to gather requirements and define project objectives around labelling and DLP
- Identify pilot users and relevant device types (incl. OS variations)
- Map out current file repositories and sensitive information sources
- Define manual and automatic labelling strategies and DLP settings
- Establish Insider Risk Management objectives and criteria
- Document gaps and improvement areas within the current environment
- Provide informal knowledge transfer on labelling approaches and user adoption strategies
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience delivering Microsoft Purview, Unstructured Data, Information Protection, or Compliance solutions
- Strong knowledge of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Auto-labelling
- Hands-on experience with Insider Risk Management within Microsoft 365
- Ability to facilitate workshops, capture requirements, and translate them into actionable plans
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to business and technical stakeholders
Desirable:
- Microsoft Certifications in Security, Compliance, and Identity
- Experience working in consultancy or partner environments
- Familiarity with user adoption and change management best practices
