Salary

Up to £90k depending on experience

We're working with a leading GCP-specialist consultancy that helps organisations unlock business value through cloud, data and AI technologies.

With deep expertise across cloud engineering, modern data platforms and AI solutions, they partner with clients to solve complex technical challenges and accelerate digital transformation initiatives.

Due to continued growth, particularly across AI, intelligent automation and cloud modernisation projects, they are looking to appoint an experienced Cloud Architect to join their expanding team.

The Opportunity

You’ll play a key role in designing, building and delivering cloud-native solutions across a diverse client portfolio.

Sitting at the intersection of technical leadership and client engagement, they will translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure and resilient architectures on Google Cloud.

Working across AI and ML initiatives, data platforms and cloud transformation programmes, the Cloud Architect will act as a trusted technical advisor to clients and a key partner to delivery teams.

The role requires someone who is equally comfortable whiteboarding solutions with engineers as they are presenting strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end Google Cloud solutions spanning infrastructure, networking, security and application layers, ensuring solutions are scalable, resilient and aligned to business requirements.
  • Define and architect infrastructure strategies using Infrastructure as Code (Ia C), containerisation and CI/CD practices to enable repeatable, production‑grade deployments.
  • Design and deliver AI, machine learning and agentic AI solutions using Google Cloud technologies.
  • Architect modern data platforms and pipelines, including ingestion, transformation and serving layers, leveraging technologies such as Big Query, Dataflow, Pub/Sub and Cloud Composer.
  • Lead the technical planning and execution of cloud migration and application modernisation programmes, including lift-and-shift migrations, re‑platforming and application re‑architecture.
  • Act as a technical authority within client engagements, facilitating discovery workshops, producing architectural artefacts and presenting recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage technical risks throughout the delivery lifecycle, ensuring solutions meet security, compliance and performance requirements.
  • Provide guidance to colleagues and contribute to internal best practices, architectural standards and reusable design patterns.

Your Profile

  • A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a Cloud Architecture or Engineering role, ideally within a consultancy or professional services environment.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering solutions on Google Cloud across infrastructure, data and application domains.
  • A strong understanding of data architecture principles and experience designing analytical platforms and data pipelines.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering cloud migration and modernisation programmes and selecting the appropriate migration strategies for different environments.
  • A passion for continuous learning and a desire to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients.
  • Communication is key! You’ll need to be confident translating complex technical concepts to business stakeholders.
  • Due to potential clients in the public‑sector, Active/Eligibility for Security Clearance would be beneficial.

Benefits

On top of the salary, you can also expect

  • 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays + Your Birthday off.
  • A further £2.5k each year for whatever you decide – Training, pension, medical insurance, etc.
  • Dedicated training and development programme to continue your development.
  • Personalised career progression plan.
  • Opportunity to work towards certificates – Especially in GCP.
