We are looking for a professional SIA Security Officer to join our Winchester-based team as part of the Winchester BID Rangers, working as part of a dedicated team focused on reducing low-level crime and antisocial behaviour in the area.
Duties:
- Supervise day to day operations to ensure work is carried out effectively, safely and in line with company policies and procedures.
- Provide a visible, alert and smart security presence within Winchester City Centre.
- Undertake routine foot patrols.
- Respond to and manage incidents efficiently and effectively.
- Utilise dedicated technology, including body-worn CCTV, radios, mobile apps, and digital monitoring systems.
- Maintain effective communication with the project supervisor ensuring that issues are raised and dealt with promptly and effectively.
- Promote a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture, ensuring procedures are followed and risks are reported and managed.
- Liaise with police, client representatives and other agencies as needed.
- Complete necessary documentation including incident and occurrence reports as required.
- Complete required screening and training programme to become an Accredited CSAS Officer (where applicable).
Candidate Requirements:
- Current and active SIA licence (either Door Supervisor or Close Protection).
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and 10-year background checks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use own initiative to assess situations and respond appropriately.
- A good timekeeper and able to plan own workload.
- Smart, well-presented and confident in dealing with the general public.
Selection Process:
Security officers at this site must have a valid SIA licence, either Door Supervision (DS) or Close Protection (CP).
