Based at our Head Office in Andover, the Control Room Operator is responsible for supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of our 24-hour Control Room. The role involves coordinating security personnel, incident management, CCTV monitoring, and operational support across our contracts.

Responsibilities include maintaining operational systems and assignment instructions, communicating with frontline teams, liaising with clients, and ensuring accurate operational information and reporting. The post holder will ensure compliance with our Integrated Management System and industry standards while demonstrating professionalism, strong organisational skills, effective communication, and the ability to prioritise and perform under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.

Duties

  • Monitoring operations using internal systems and CCTV platforms
  • Dispatching officers and assets in response to incidents and requests
  • Handling calls from Alarm Receiving Centres (ARCs) and coordinating responses
  • Responding to client and operational enquiries
  • Conducting welfare checks and following up on missed calls
  • Reviewing and issuing operational reports for accuracy
  • Respond professionally to incidents and emergencies
  • Maintaining up-to-date operational and client records
  • Ensuring compliance with company procedures and industry standards

Candidate Requirements

  • Have experience in a Control Room, operations centre, or similar (preferred)
  • Are organised, proactive, and able to prioritise effectively
  • Remain calm and efficient under pressure
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can produce accurate written logs and reports in real time
  • Are confident using Microsoft Office and operational systems
  • Have a high level of computer literacy
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Are confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels

Selection Process

Candidates must be able to reliably commute to Andover and be subject to BS7858 screening and enhanced DBS check. Candidates will ideally have an SIA CCTV licence and control room experience, although this is not essential.
