Venture Radar is a niche B2B Saa S business providing a highly custom-built technology platform for analysing, scoring, and reporting on innovative companies.

Our stack has evolved over 13 years, combining deep domain knowledge with powerful technical infrastructure - including crawler systems, automated import processes, and multi-source data enrichment.

With our founding technical lead stepping away after a long tenure, we\'re looking to bring in a part-time senior developer who can take ownership of the platform, guide future technical strategy, and ensure system continuity.

  • Role Description
  • Take over from the outgoing tech lead with full support and documentation during a transition period
  • Manage hosting and infrastructure, including cost optimisation
  • Act as lead developer, providing hands-on development, particularly for new features or refactors
  • Contribute to product discussions and prioritisation
  • Be the technical steward of a system with real IP value and active users
  • Own the technical roadmap, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and alignment with business goals

The role is remote and on-going, with UK-based applicants preferred (outside IR35) for occasional meet-ups. Beginning in September/October 2025.

The role initially is for 2 days per month.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ C#/. NET full-stack experience
  • Strong Azure knowledge
  • Familiarity with Mongo DB, Elasticsearch, and SQL Server
  • Comfortable navigating and modernising legacy systems
  • Independent, structured, and proactive mindset
  • Strategic thinking - able to balance product evolution with maintenance
  • (Bonus) Experience with data-driven Saa S platforms
  • (Bonus) Experience with crawlers or data enrichment pipelines

The platform comprises

  • C# (. NET) applications, including multiple websites
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Elasticsearch
  • Mongo DB
  • SQL Server
  • Custom-built infrastructure across crawling, data processing orchestration system and internal tools and dashboards

The system is stable and mature, but has plenty of opportunity for a technical lead to bring value.
