Position Overview:
Provide technical support for remote and onsite users. This position provides front-line technical support for nearly all of the systems for which IT Services is responsible.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide end user support via remote assistance and telephone.
- Document incoming helpdesk requests using internal ticketing system.
- Install, repair and maintain desktop and laptop computers, peripherals and related systems.
- Assist in maintaining hardware and software inventory for asset management.
- Demonstrate broad knowledge of technology principles, practices, and procedures.
- Self-manage in a way that allows flexibility to support multiple tasks at any given time.
- Assist in administering the telephone system and all user handsets.
- Assist in creating or updating end user support documents within knowledge management.
- Build and maintain relationships across departments.
- Other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of overall IT experience preferred.
- 2+ years’ experience supporting Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OS environment preferred.
- 2+ years’ experience supporting Microsoft Office applications preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Office 365 - Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Demonstrate ability to learn and understand basic office software applications.
- Knowledge of network security practices and Antivirus software preferred.
- Exceptional analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work across diverse technical and non-technical teams.
- Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Exceptional Customer-oriented attitude.
- ITIL (foundational level, but exposure to more detail than foundation is often necessary).
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Normal office environment.
- Extending viewing of computer screens.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Spends time at a computer workstation and desk.
- Moves throughout department or other locations to access or exchange information.
- May involve carrying loads up to 50 lbs. and being able to remain in a stationary position.
- May involve lowering oneself to file, and reaching, twisting or turning.
- Involves handling office materials, typing, writing and other tasks that require manual dexterity.
- Ability to communicate information.
