Head of Logistics £90k to £120K (based on experience), Car, Bonus, Benefits Birmingham This exciting, high growth global business is one of the world’s largest kitchen manufacturers, recognised globally for innovative design and the best engineering. With an expansive, 55,000 sq ft head office and distribution warehouse and extensive kitchen showrooms in throughout the UK, they deliver a seamless service from concept to installation and aftercare to house builders and property developer clients nationwide. Due to an exciting period of growth and a solid plan in place for further expansion including another distribution centre in Northampton / Milton Keynes area , we are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Head of Logistics. As the business expands at a rapid pace, the successful candidate will have the desire, potential and talent to develop into a Logistics Director. The Head of Logistics will oversee and optimise the entire logistics and supply chain function of this exciting kitchen manufacturing business. This includes procurement, inventory management, warehousing, transport, and distribution to ensure that customer orders are delivered on time, in full, and to the highest quality standards. The role is key to supporting the company’s growth strategy, improving operational efficiency, and maintaining customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities * Strategic Leadership Develop and implement the logistics and supply chain strategy aligned with overall business goals. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels. Lead the logistics team across multiple sites, including warehouses and transport functions. * Supply Chain & Inventory Management Oversee raw material sourcing, inbound logistics, and supplier performance. Implement robust inventory controls to balance cost with customer demand. Ensure effective demand planning and production scheduling with manufacturing. * Warehousing & Distribution Manage warehouse operations ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and efficiency standards. Oversee fleet and third-party logistics providers for national and/or international distribution. Ensure customer deliveries are accurate, timely, and cost-effective. * Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with all health & safety, transport, and environmental regulations. Manage logistics budgets, contracts, and risk exposure. Maintain contingency plans for supply chain disruptions. * Leadership & Team Development Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing logistics and supply chain team. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Key Skills & Competencies Strong strategic thinking with hands-on operational experience. Experience of opening a distribution centre Proven expertise in supply chain management, warehousing, and transport logistics. Excellent knowledge of ERP systems, forecasting, and demand planning tools. Strong negotiation and supplier management skills. Exceptional leadership and people management capabilities. Analytical, data-driven decision-making approach. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing and customer-focused environment. Qualifications & Experience Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or related discipline (Master’s desirable). Minimum 10 years’ experience in logistics/supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in manufacturing (kitchen, furniture, or construction-related products preferred). Track record of delivering operational improvements and cost efficiencies. Strong knowledge of transport regulations and international trade (if applicable). KPIs & Success Measures On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery performance. Logistics cost as % of sales. Inventory accuracy and stock turnover rates. Customer satisfaction scores relating to delivery. Health & Safety compliance metrics. Staff engagement and retention within the logistics function
