A highly regarded law firm is seeking a Solicitor or Associate (1 PQE) to join its Business Support & Insolvency team. This Southampton-based role offers the opportunity to work closely with leading Partners and be part of a collaborative, cross-office insolvency team. It’s an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to develop their career within a well-established and growing insolvency practice.
Applications are welcomed from candidates with experience in personal and/or corporate insolvency (contentious and non-contentious), or solicitors from a corporate or commercial litigation background seeking to specialise in insolvency. The successful candidate will advise a broad client base including insolvency practitioners, banks, lenders, investors, directors, companies and individuals.
The position offers early responsibility and exposure to a wide range of matters, including:
- Administration appointments
- Security reviews
- Sales of businesses and assets out of insolvency
- Bankruptcy and liquidation matters
- Officeholder claims and antecedent transactions
Experience working with LPA Receivers would be advantageous but is not essential.
Candidate profile:
- Strong grounding in core legal principles, with a good understanding of insolvency and/or company law
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Commercially aware with a proactive approach
- Interest in business development and networking across the South and Thames Valley
- Collaborative, personable and client-focused
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage responsibility from an early stage
