This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT Level 4 qualified finance professional who enjoys working in a dynamic SME environment, combining accounting expertise with systems improvement and process optimisation.
This varied role will see you take ownership of maintaining and developing the company's financial systems while supporting the wider finance function. You'll work closely with colleagues across the business to enhance reporting, improve processes and ensure the integrity of financial data, making a genuine impact on business performance.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain, develop and optimise the company's accounting systems and financial processes.
- Support the month-end and year-end close process.
- Produce accurate management reports and financial analysis.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across all systems.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial controls, reporting and automation.
- Collaborate with operational teams to enhance reporting capabilities and system efficiencies.
- Support external audits and prepare information for statutory reporting requirements.
- Provide support and training to users of the finance system where required.
- Assist with finance system upgrades, testing and the implementation of new processes.
You'll be an organised, analytical and proactive finance professional with a passion for improving systems and streamlining processes. Comfortable working independently, you'll also enjoy collaborating with stakeholders across the business to deliver practical solutions and continuous improvements.
Essential Skills & Experience- AAT Level 4 qualified.
- Previous accounting experience within an SME environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls and reporting.
- Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
