Our client, a major international engineering organisation, are looking to appoint a Senior Financial Accountant to join their central accounting team. This is a high-impact role suited to someone who thrives in change, enjoys improving processes, and wants to progress to manager level within the next 18 months. The opportunity would suit someone with a large commercial business background or someone making a move from practice into industry.

The role

Reporting to the Fixed & Lease Assets Manager, you will play a key role in standardising and strengthening asset accounting processes across the group. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and embedding consistent policies for Fixed and Lease Asset accounting
  • Partnering with internal and external stakeholders on lease management
  • Managing fixed and leased asset registers, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting IFRS 16 accounting and administration of the group’s lease accounting tool
  • Supporting impairment reviews, valuations and component assessments
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Contributing to wider finance transformation initiatives

About you

We’re looking for a qualified, proactive, inquisitive and technically strong finance professional who enjoys problem-solving and improving processes. You will bring:

  • Experience in a large professional practice or from a complex or international environment
  • Good knowledge of Fixed and/or Lease Asset accounting plus a good understanding of IFRS16
  • Experience reviewing or improving finance processes
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and act as a business partner across the wider business
  • Experience with finance systems such as SAP, NAV, IFS, BPC or similar preferred
  • A positive, adaptable approach to change
  • A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
