Are you passionate about helping people live fulfilling lives? Do you want to make a positive impact every day? Venture People are looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our Mental Health Support Team, working with people who have complex mental health needs. Dealing with clients across West Sussex β travel expenses paid outside of commute. Car owner/driver preferred. We do not offer sponsorship for this role.
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you'll provide person-centred care and support to individuals with diverse and challenging needs. You'll help them build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve their personal goals. No two days are the same - you'll be making a difference where it matters most.
What You'll Do- Support individuals with mental health challenges in their daily lives.
- Promote independence and wellbeing through tailored care plans.
- Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and the wider team.
- Respond with empathy and creativity to complex situations.
- Facilitate the delivery of a service which follows a person-centred ethos and promotes independence.
- Complete dynamic risk assessments and support plans.
- Promote wellbeing and appropriately manage risk.
- Ensure adherence to company and national policies and procedures.
- A caring, resilient, and positive attitude.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in mental health or social care is desirable.
- Ability to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends.
- Ability to positively address and challenge inappropriate or negative behaviours and attitudes.
- Experience of using therapeutic de-escalation and/or crisis intervention techniques.
- Able to respond to changes in an individual's needs and meet deadlines.
- To encourage and manage participation and involvement from the people we support.
- Computer literate, with confidence in using all Microsoft Office programmes.
