About the Role

Venture-People is an award-winning organisation, formed from our shared ambition to provide high-quality psychologically informed support. We provide bespoke, community-based support to individuals with complex needs; including a mental health diagnosis, neurodiversity, or those who may have endured trauma. The people we support may have spent an extended period in hospital or another setting, therefore we utilise a person-centred approach; empowering individuals to become as independent as possible within their own homes.

Job Opportunity

Working as part of a close-knit team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the service, including:

  • Risk management
  • Liaising with professionals
  • Line management of the frontline team
  • Delivering support and providing a non-judgmental space for the service users to provide their own feedback

As the team leader for Outreach, no two days are the same and you will be required to be responsive & flexible, ensuring the needs of the service users are met and the frontline team have the appropriate support and guidance to carry out their role. The role will include a mixture of office-based work and delivery of support to our clients. You will be able to work closely with your service manager to ensure the safe and effective delivery of service; following a person-centered ethos of support which builds individual’s confidence and promotes independence, whilst facilitating growth and quality assurance within the team.

Key duties of the Team Manager:

  • To facilitate the delivery of a service which follows a person-centred ethos incorporating values of recovery to deliver support which builds an individual’s confidence and promotes independence.
  • To complete dynamic risk assessments and provide support to individuals, to maximise wellbeing and appropriately manage risk.
  • Working with management to complete thorough assessments of the need and development of the service offer.
  • To follow policies and procedures within the workplace to protect our team and the people we support, including safeguarding, investigations and health and safety.
  • Facilitate and manage a staff roster; providing responsive and emergency support when required. This will include participation within the Duty Management Roster.
  • To follow national guidelines in all aspects of operation, including adherence to policies and procedures, code of conduct and the facilitation of inspection and improvement.
  • To work flexibly as required by the service; this may require some working outside of your normal hours to provide consistent support in the event of staff sickness or to facilitate staff training/supervision.

Essential Skills:

  • Previous experience, within Mental Health/LD/Neurodiverse support
  • To demonstrate person-centred thinking and work within its parameters.
  • To meet deadlines and respond to changes in an individual’s needs.
  • Show leadership within a team structure and maintain a positive culture of enablement.
  • Create, manage and sustain participation and involvement from the people we support.
  • Computer literate, with confidence in using all Microsoft Office programmes.
  • Ability to positively address and challenge inappropriate or negative behaviours and attitudes.
  • Experience in using therapeutic de-escalation and/or crisis intervention techniques.
