Specialist, Shipping Procurement in London

Venture Global LNG is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to join our Shipping Operations team. This individual will purchase goods and services specifically for the Venture Global Shipping Vessels. This position will partner with the Ship Management and Newbuild teams to ensure equipment, materials, consumables and minor subcontracting needs are fulfilled to support the vessel’s schedule and budget.

• Evaluate needs, negotiate with local vendors, and ensure timely delivery of materials while adhering to vessel specifications and budget constraints.
• Collect daily procurement requests, identify material needs directly from the ship crews and operations team.
• Develop and distribute requests for quotes, collect proposals, prepare and issue Purchase Orders, in line with the corporate Procurement Policy and Procedures.
• Use knowledge of sources and suppliers across the industry to find approved alternative sources to fulfill business needs.
• Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to the vessel port of call.
• Provide regular updates on procurement activities, including requests out for quote, purchase orders issued, and other suppliers contacts made.
• Support the execution of Supplier Performance Management program execution.
• Maintain material purchase requests, supplier proposals, purchasing records, supplier feedback documentation as required per policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Associate degree or equivalent in business, supply chain, sourcing or related field.
• Knowledge of local suppliers and market dynamics to find the best sourcing options.
• Experience with a computerized procurement system (MariApps, Coupa, MS Office).
• Self-starter with ability to work strategically under little direction.
• Ability to build relationships and engage with stakeholders across the organization.
• Strong knowledge of procurement procedures, and sourcing practices.
• Ability to establish relationships with third party suppliers to facilitate material procurement.
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in purchase orders, specifications, and quality checks.
• Effective communication skills with suppliers, stakeholders, and vessel personnel.
• Ability to handle unexpected issues and find solutions on-site.
• Willing to report in office daily, with occasional nights and weekend work required.
• Periodic travel to business locations, headquarters and/or suppliers in various domestic and international locations will be required.

Work Hours: 8AM – 5PM, Mon – Friday
