The company’s two Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Analyst - Performance & Emissions to be based in London, UK.
General Description: The Analyst - Performance & Emissions will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating vessel performance against TCP warranties, using voyage reports and sensor data. Another key aspect of the role is to capture and analyze data related to VGC’s chartered Fleet’s international emission regulations and enable the day-to-day administration of emission reporting to relevant authorities. This position will sit within the VGC Shipping Fleet Performance & Emissions Team, reporting directly to the Sr. Manager - Fleet Performance and Emissions, and will play a key role in enhancing value for VGC’s chartered fleet. Strong digital and analytical skills are essential for handling large complex data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fleet Performance & Emissions Compliance System Development Support: Support the development of systems for monitoring, recording, and evaluating LNG fleet performance and emissions exposure.
- Regulatory Upkeep: Maintain records related to environmental regulations, ensuring data accuracy for submissions to classification societies.
- Performance Monitoring: Assist in monitoring vessel performance and highlighting underperformance against Charterparty warranties.
- Compliance Coordination: Monitor and report on emission compliance requirements, including deadlines and documentary evidence.
- Routing Evaluation: Utilize weather routing and voyage reporting services to assist in evaluating optimized ship routing.
- Analytical Support: Help develop and maintain analytical models to derive various performance and emission KPIs. In addition, there will be analytical needs from Shipping Operations, Chartering Platform.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with IT on the development of a live monitoring platform for VGC chartered ships.
- Fleet Management Support: Actively support the management of the LNG carrier fleet through procedure development and software implementation.
- Stakeholder & Claims Support: Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and assist in LNG performance claims management.
- Ad-hoc Tasks: Provide supplementary support and complete tasks as requested by the line manager.
Experience & Skills
Essential
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years in Data Analytics or Data Science.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Python, Databricks, SQL, Microsoft Power Platform, and Excel.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of the LNG supply chain, international maritime emission regulations, and LNG Time Charter Parties.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in a complementary field (Data Science, Computer Science).
