Venture Global LNG is a long‑term, low‑cost provider of American‑produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s Louisiana‑based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long‑term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid‑scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.

The Technician, Mechanical will report to the Operations Manager. The Mechanical Technician performs the safe, efficient and effective execution of all mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance work on Venture Global’s CPX Pipeline. The Mechanical Technician is responsible for working with other Pipeline Technicians, Pipeline Operators, ROW Technicians and Supervisors within the Pipeline organization. This role ensures compliance with regulatory, safety, and company standards while supporting operational uptime and asset integrity.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in commissioning activities
  • Assist with the CMMS build out
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance mechanical work according to VG Pipeline procedures, standards and regulations
  • Identify potential safety, health, environmental work hazards
  • Understand maintenance work scope and applicable Operation and Maintenance processes and procedures
  • Interpret P&IDs, and technical manuals
  • Support commissioning, startup, and shutdown activities
  • Participate in root cause analysis and failure investigations
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Support emergency response activities as required
  • Function as Maintenance SME (Subject Matter Expert) for Mechanical Maintenance
  • Prepare and create required Job Safety Hazard Analysis and Work permits under his/her area of responsibility (ePTW as applicable).
  • Ensure permits are prepared and submitted to Operations well in advance before execution
  • Understanding of requirements needed to execute control system (DCS, PLCs, SIS, F&G and stand‑alone applications) maintenance work
  • Provide tracking, status reporting, and project progress updates to project management
  • Supervise contractor work execution, safe work completion, and performance according to VG Contractor Management procedure.
  • Report contractor work quality/non‑compliances issues to direct Supervisor and Planning/Contract teams
  • Responsible for population of Load Sheets associated with the workstream
  • Function as interface between Maintenance, Engineering and other VG departments
  • Support Mechanical equipment factory acceptance test (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) as required
  • Participate in various reviews during the Engineering and Design Phases, such as HAZOPs, 3D model and P&ID reviews
  • Coordinate identification of local suppliers for spare data/pricing information
  • Responsible to populate missing core tag data in SPILs as required
  • Responsible to submit MM creation based on vendor recommended spares where missing or as required for BOM development
  • Travel including nights and weekends, as needed
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED (Technical degree or related field preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience of maintenance mechanical technician work experience in Oil & Gas, LNG or petrochemical facilities
  • Knowledge of mechanical industrial standards, code regulations (i.e. API, ASME - Process, NBIC pressure devices relief testing among others)
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical static and rotating equipment
  • Applied knowledge of maintenance and inspection of mechanical equipment
  • Experience working scaffolding, painting, insulating, heavy equipment operation‑rigging/lifting crafts, welding, fabrication, machining, etc.
  • Familiar with CMMS systems work management process (Work order process). SAP experience is preferred
  • Experience supporting small/medium scale mechanical projects
  • Maintenance planning and scheduling experience preferred
  • Understanding of project development and delivery
  • Experience in natural gas and/or midstream operations
  • Applied knowledge of maintenance and troubleshooting of dedicated application systems such as, but not limited to, rotating machinery vibration and speed monitoring systems
  • Experience in maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge with CMMS systems work management process (Work order process). SAP experience is preferred
  • Experience with MOC, PSSR, HAZID/HAZOP
  • Periodic travel to project sites and consultant offices
  • TWIC holder or ability to obtain TWIC
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and enter confined spaces
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays and respond to call outs and emergencies
  • Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules
  • Must be able to respond to an emergency at the station within 60 minutes
Skills
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and meet company insurability requirements
  • May be required to possess a commercial driver’s license, drive a company commercial vehicle and comply with all commercial vehicle regulations
