Location: Based across Bromyard and Ledbury, working with patients in community clinics and home settings, as part of a multidisciplinary team in Herefordshire.

Main duties and requirements

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Is a registered nurse (NMC) with substantial experience in lower limb or tissue viability care
  • Has strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Is confident working autonomously while valuing team collaboration
  • Is enthusiastic about service development and improving patient outcomes
  • Holds (or is willing to work towards) relevant specialist qualifications

Job Description

Job responsibilities: Please see Job description for overview of main responsibilities. This role will provide lower limb services within a designated locality but may be required to cross cover the service across Herefordshire.

Person Specification

Essential – Education & Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with proven post-registration experience working with patients with a variety of wounds
  • Leg Ulcer Management module at degree level
  • Leg Ulcer in-house 2 day course plus competencies
  • Mentorship Course
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable – Education & Qualifications

  • Tissue Viability related qualification at degree level
  • Postgraduate teaching qualification or a comparable level of experience (or willingness to work toward)
  • Independent non-medical prescriber or willingness to undertake V150 Prescribing course

Essential – Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Clinical Audit
  • Wound Care and Tissue Viability Practice
  • Current research, practice development in wound care and tissue viability
  • Care pathways for wound care and leg ulcer management

Essential – Experience

  • Experience of leadership and management skills

Desirable – Experience

  • Experience of change management
  • Experience and knowledge of audit systems and research

Disclosure and Barring Service Check: This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and a submission for Disclosure to the DBS will be required.
