This is a full‑time, fixed‑term training post leading to a Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship. After two years of study and on‑the‑job training, you will be able to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a qualified Pharmacy Technician.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in a structured training programme delivered in partnership with an accredited education provider.
- Gain hands‑on experience in the hospital pharmacy, including dispensary, aseptic services, pharmacy stores and ward‑based services.
- Support pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants in providing safe, effective and efficient pharmacy services.
- Balance work‑based learning and study time to meet educational and professional standards set by the GPhC.
- Complete a portfolio of evidence and pass assessments as part of your qualification.
- Ability to concentrate with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic IT skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines in a high‑pressure environment.
- Experience in dealing with the public and with challenging situations.
- Previous experience in a dispensary setting either in community or hospital.
- Pharmacy Services Skills Level 2 QCF Qualification or equivalent.
- GCSE Maths at grade C (level 4 or above), English and Science at C (level 4 or above) and 3 other subjects at GCSE level at a minimum of grade C (level 4) or equivalent qualification.
