Staff Nurse (Band 5) – Wye Valley NHS Trust, Herefordshire. This is an exciting time to be working here with vacancies in ICU (permanent and fixed term contracts available). Proven Acute Ward Experience is required. A critical care induction and critical care competency framework are provided, linked to the critical care networks. The organisation is an Integrated Care Organisation combining acute and community care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care within relevant clinical areas in line with role requirements and organisational standards.
  • Demonstrate proven skills within relevant clinical area(s) and maintain competency through ongoing professional development.
  • Support delivery of high-quality patient care in alignment with critical care induction and competency framework where applicable.
  • Contribute to the provision of care across acute and community settings as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

  • Essential: First / Second Level Registration or equivalent; evidence of having undertaken a period of Preceptorship; NMC pin and revalidation where applicable.
  • Essential: Proved experience in a relevant clinical area; extensive proven acute ward experience.
  • Essential: Leadership; Time management of self and others; problem solving; ability to influence at management and team level; good knowledge of Government initiatives or equivalent.
  • Essential: Flexible & adaptable; team player; ability to work well under pressure; effective and sensitive handling of difficult information and situations.
  • Other factors: Able to meet moving and handling requirements with any aids or adaptations; able to meet travel requirements of the job.
  • Desirable: Experience of Change Management.

  • Pay scheme: Agenda for Change; Band 5; Salary £31,049 to £37,796 per year (pro rata for part-time).
  • Contract: Permanent; Working pattern: Part-time.
  • Job locations: Hereford, HR1 2ER.
