Clinical Nurse Specialist Paediatric Allergy Service – We are looking for an experienced nurse to lead our paediatric allergy service. This role works alongside a medical team and will be involved in assessing and diagnosing children with an allergy through relevant allergy testing. This role will provide clinical expertise to support the wider MDT and provide relevant training to staff and families as required.

The role will be responsible for the development and implementation of service specific policies and protocols with support from the MDT. The role will also be responsible for developing and implementing relevant care pathways based on the best available evidence. The role will develop a robust transition plan for young people who will transition to adult services.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the paediatric allergy nursing service and provide expert advice to members of the MDT.
  • Assess and diagnose children with allergies, including through relevant allergy testing, in collaboration with the medical team.
  • Provide clinical expertise to support the MDT and deliver training to staff and families as required.
  • Develop and implement service-specific policies and protocols with MDT support.
  • Develop and implement care pathways based on best available evidence.
  • Develop a robust transition plan for young people moving to adult services.
  • Contribute to service development and continuous improvement within the paediatric allergy service.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Qualified nurse with experience in paediatric care and allergy services.
  • Experience in leading clinical teams and working within an MDT.
  • Ability to develop policies, protocols and care pathways; strong communication and training skills.
