Venture & Agents is hiring a Clinical Practice Development Facilitator - ED to lead education and professional development for nursing staff in the Emergency Department. This Band 6 role requires a strong clinical background and a commitment to enhancing high‑quality patient care.

The clinical practice development nurse (PDN) collaborates with department leadership to deliver safe, patient‑centred care. Responsibilities include leading continuing education, training programmes, risk management and providing expert nursing support. A strong clinical background in the ED is essential, ensuring nursing teams receive the right standard of care.

Main Duties of the Job:

  • Assessment, implementation and monitoring of standards of patient care.
  • Support staff training and education for the team.
  • Carry out risk management, report and share learning.
  • Understand budget control, efficient use of human and consumable resources.
  • Act as an expert nurse demonstrating advanced knowledge, clinical reasoning and decision‑making for emergency presentations.
  • Adapt quickly to changing situations, managing acutely unwell patients and escalating deteriorating cases.
  • Oversee all patients within the unit to ensure highest standards, providing assurance to the ward manager.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • At least a first‑level degree, or willingness to work towards one.
  • Experience teaching staff formally and informally.
  • Substantial experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience assessing practice and giving constructive feedback.
  • Current knowledge of specialist practice area.
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to network with staff.

Desirable:

  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience teaching staff formally and informally.

Further Requirements:

Applicants must have current UK professional registration and will undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
