Ventula Consulting is partnering with a leading UK organisation to recruit a Data Protection Specialist on a 9-month fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced privacy professional who enjoys working across Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), privacy operations, DPIAs, incident management and day-to-day GDPR compliance activities.
Working closely with Legal, HR, Technology and business stakeholders, you will play a key role in supporting the organisation's data protection framework and ensuring compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and respond to Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and other data subject rights requests
- Conduct data discovery, review, redaction and disclosure activities
- Support the investigation and management of personal data incidents and breaches
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and provide practical privacy advice to stakeholders
- Maintain Records of Processing Activities (RoPAs) and privacy documentation
- Support privacy audits, compliance reviews and remediation activities
- Review supplier arrangements and support data processing and data sharing assessments
- Provide guidance on UK GDPR and data protection best practice across the organisation
- Assist with regulatory enquiries and privacy-related investigations where required
- Deliver privacy awareness support and training activities
- Strong practical experience working within a Data Protection, Privacy or Information Governance role
- Demonstrable experience managing DSARs from end to end
- Experience conducting DPIAs and supporting privacy risk assessments
- Experience investigating and managing personal data breaches and incidents
- Good understanding of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience using one or more of the following: Microsoft Purview, Mimecast, DataGuard
- Experience with any of the following would also be beneficial: OneTrust, Microsoft Priva, eDiscovery tools, ServiceNow
- Salary of £50,000 - £60,000 pro-rata for a 9 month fixed term contract
