UX Designer (AI Speech and Voice Product)
Global telecoms giant has launched a new company to develop and market its AI product suite, the new organisation is to be headquartered in central London.
We are seeking an exceptional UX/UI Designer to join our newly-founded AI joint venture at the intersection of telecommunications and artificial intelligence. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape next-generation voice-driven experiences in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on building and launching an MVP within 6-9 months. In this position, you will craft intuitive user experiences and interfaces for our voice-first AI products and services, with an initial focus on our AI-powered dialer and virtual assistant. You'll design an intuitive, engaging, and trustworthy experience for our users, with a special focus on simplifying complex conversational AI interactions. Working closely with product managers, engineers, and AI specialists, you'll design seamless interactions that span multiple modalities including voice, text, and visual elements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design intuitive yet trail-blazing interfaces for conversational AI interactions, ensuring seamless transitions between voice, text, and visual modalities.
- Create a polished and intuitive user interface for the MVP, prioritizing usability to drive adoption and positive user experiences.
- Act as the voice of the customer and user in internal product development discussions.
- Develop comprehensive user flows, wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes for mobile applications incorporating voice AI technology.
- Take primary design ownership of novel AI interaction patterns, including the real-time call screening interface and AI-generated call summaries.
- Design a clear, transparent user onboarding process, with a focus on sensitive consent flows for voice cloning and data permissions.
- Create intuitive controls for privacy settings, voice personalization features, and collaborative functionalities.
- Design interfaces for multimodal AI capabilities, including live visual support and smart information capture.
- Create user-friendly visualizations of complex voice AI features such as network-aware call quality and security verification.
- Establish and maintain a consistent design system and visual language across the product ecosystem.
- Design interfaces that accommodate diverse user needs across multiple markets, considering cultural differences and preferences.
- Conduct user research to inform design decisions and validate solutions through usability testing.
- Rapidly iterate on designs based on feedback to support our aggressive MVP timeline.
- Work closely with the Product Manager and mobile engineers to ensure accurate implementation of designs while maintaining usability.
- Participate in design review sessions and stakeholder presentations to communicate design rationale.
- Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to understand technical constraints and opportunities when designing for voice models.
- Design the user's relationship with a proactive, goal-oriented AI agent, ensuring the system's autonomy feels helpful, trustworthy, and aligned with user intentions.
- Strategically prioritize design work to support a rapid MVP launch, while establishing a design foundation that can scale for future feature complexity and market expansion.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in UX/UI design for mobile applications.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating clean, intuitive interface designs and end-to-end design processes.
- Proven experience designing complex, consumer-facing mobile applications for both iOS and Android.
- Expertise in designing for complex AI functionalities and an ability to explore untrodden paths in UX design.
- Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to clearly articulate design decisions and incorporate feedback effectively.

This position is hybrid with a couple of days a week in the London office and the rest remote. The basis salary is between £90-110K basic + LTIP + Bonus + exceptional package.
