This is a hands-on senior delivery leadership role, accountable for bringing together multiple technology and business teams to deliver tangible outcomes across the Finance landscape. Operating at pace and at scale, you will navigate complexity, resolve cross‑functional challenges, and ensure initiatives land successfully for Finance stakeholders.
You will work closely with Finance leaders, Digital & Technology teams, and transformation partners to translate priorities into delivered outcomes, ensuring alignment across programmes, platforms, and teams.
The Opportunity
- High-impact delivery leadership: Lead and coordinate delivery across several concurrent Finance initiatives, each with senior stakeholder visibility up to and including the CFO.
- Complex problem solving: Operate in a highly matrixed environment, resolving delivery blockers across technology, data, process, and people.
- Cross-team orchestration: Bring together internal teams, vendors, and partners to deliver cohesive outcomes, even where accountability is distributed.
- Finance-critical outcomes: Enable improvements across core Finance capabilities such as close, reporting, controls, planning, and analytics.
- Change at scale: Deliver solutions that work in a global, regulated, enterprise environment.
Key responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery of multiple Finance technology initiatives, from mobilisation through to successful adoption and outcomes.
- Act as the senior delivery integrator, aligning work across product teams, platform teams, data teams, Finance SMEs, and external partners.
- Translate Finance priorities into executable delivery plans, balancing speed, quality, risk, and value.
- Identify and resolve complex delivery issues, including dependencies, resourcing constraints, data challenges, and competing priorities.
- Lead cross-functional problem solving, making pragmatic decisions in ambiguous or fast-changing situations.
- Engage and manage senior stakeholders across Finance and D&T, building trust, momentum, and shared ownership of outcomes.
- Ensure delivery discipline, including clear milestones, risks, dependencies, and outcome tracking.
- Embed change successfully, ensuring solutions are adopted, understood, and operationally sustainable.
Qualifications and skills
- A strong track record of leading delivery across multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience working across Finance technology landscapes (e.g. ERP, reporting, planning, data, controls).
- The ability to lead without formal authority, influencing across matrixed teams and senior stakeholders. This role will not have direct reports.
- Proven capability in complex problem solving, navigating ambiguity, and making sound delivery decisions.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging at Finance Leadership Team level.
- Experience coordinating internal teams and external partners to deliver shared outcomes.
- A delivery mindset that balances pace, pragmatism, and risk management.
Key Deliverables
- Successful delivery of multiple concurrent Finance initiatives, meeting agreed outcomes, timelines, and quality expectations.
- Clear, aligned delivery plans that bring together multiple teams and workstreams into a single coherent view.
- Resolution of complex, cross-cutting issues that would otherwise stall delivery.
- Strong stakeholder confidence in delivery progress, decision‑making, and outcomes.
- Measurable improvements in Finance capability, efficiency, or control as a result of delivered solutions.
This contract requires 3 days a week in the central London office with the rest remote. The day rate is between £900-£1000 per day inside of IR35 for an initial.
