Change Manager (Insurance / Underwriting) – £75K (12-month FTC)

One of the UK’s best know insurance companies requires a Change Lead who will be responsible for driving the successful implementation of process, system, and operational changes across Underwriting & Distribution (U&D).

This role ensures that change initiatives, whether strategic redesigns or tactical quick wins, are delivered with clarity, stakeholder alignment, and measurable impact. Acting as a bridge between design and execution, the Change Lead champions adoption, mitigates resistance, and embeds new ways of working into business-as-usual.

Working closely with Business Process Analysts and Training resources, the Change Lead orchestrates delivery plans, tracks benefit realisation, and ensures governance standards are upheld throughout the change lifecycle. This role is pivotal in translating transformation into operational reality, reinforcing accountability, and sustaining momentum across all impacted teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and deliver change plans across U&D workstreams, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, compliance requirements, and operational readiness
  • Prioritise and execute low-effort/high-impact changes, accelerating delivery of tactical wins that support broader transformation goals
  • Coordinate with IT and operations teams to enable rapid deployment of approved changes, ensuring minimal disruption and clear accountability
  • Track benefits realisation and feedback loops, validating impact and surfacing lessons learned for continuous improvement
  • Maintain visibility of the change backlog and delivery cadence, ensuring transparency across governance forums and stakeholder groups
  • Engage stakeholders across functions to secure buy-in, manage resistance, and reinforce accountability for adoption
  • Develop and maintain change artefacts, including impact assessments, communication plans, and readiness trackers
  • Ensure seamless handover to Training Lead and BAU teams, supporting sustainability and embedding of new processes
  • Champion continuous improvement, capturing insights and feeding them into future change cycles and governance reviews Copyright

Required skills

  • Formal training in project/change management disciplines (e.g. PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma)
  • Familiarity with change management frameworks and governance models
  • + years of project/change management experience within financial services, ideally insurance
  • Proven track record of delivering projects in regulated environments with measurable outcomes
  • Experience working across business and IT functions throughout the full project lifecycle
  • Exercises sound judgment in escalating risks and surfacing options for leadership review and influencing where appropriate
  • Synthesises new information quickly and applies it effectively to evolving contexts

This is a 12 month Fixed Term contract offering £75K per annum + benefits package. The role is home based with expensed travel to various offices when required.
