Ventry Care are recruiting members of domestic staff to join the housekeeping team at our residential care home in North Finchley - N12 (London Borough of Barnet). We care for older persons and older persons with dementia.

Pay: hourly and starts at £12.25 (increasing for excellent candidates).

Hours: 08:00 to 15:00 shift, up to 6 days per week available.

About this role:

  • Essential infection control work, you will maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the Care Home.
  • Cleaning and polishing of lounges, bedrooms, corridors, common rooms and offices.
  • Washing, drying, and packing away of laundry.
  • Carpet shampooing and spring cleaning tasks.
  • To use electrical equipment safely - i.e. hoover, washing machine, dryer, iron and carpet cleaner.
  • To be aware of the usage and storage of materials and equipment and comply with COSHH requirements at all times.
  • To be aware of hazards and work within a safe environment, taking into account your own safety and the safety of others.
  • To ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained.
  • Restock toiletries, soaps, towels etc as and when required.
  • Other domestic tasks as directed.

You will be supervised and supported by the care home management and will take instruction from them. Your daily aim is to keep a busy care home clean and organised. You must therefore be self-motivated and want to work well. Experience is preferable but not essential. Ongoing training and support will be given.
