The Opportunity: We are offering an excellent opportunity for a talented and commercially minded Business Development Manager to lead our pre-contract efforts — from tender through to contract initiation. You will be responsible for preparing and submitting competitive tenders, developing, and maintaining client relationships, and supporting internal teams to ensure accurate and successful project delivery. You will also be a member of our commercial team securing our supplier relationships and optimising input costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare high-quality, competitive tenders and proposals in line with specifications, deadlines, and internal quality standards.
- Use End 2 End software to model and cost enquiries.
- Interpret architectural drawings and specifications; conduct quantity take-offs and build up unit rates.
- Coordinate and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain best terms and accurate quotations.
- Maintain communication with clients regarding tender progress and follow-up.
- Analyse and propose value engineering options to ensure commercially competitive bids.
- Participate in and lead internal tender reviews and project handover meetings.
- Prepare project information packs for our delivery teams post-award.
- Ensure thorough record keeping including completion of tender checklists.
- Build long-term relationships with clients, referrers of business and suppliers alike.
- Provide CPD seminars, on behalf of Ventrolla, to architects and contractors in your region, when required.
- Support and mentor junior or apprentice team members through knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to process improvement and collaboration across commercial, technical, and delivery teams.
