About Ventro Group

Ventro Group is a leading fire safety and building compliance business, delivering critical life safety services across the United Kingdom. Backed by private equity investment from KLAR Partners, we are on an ambitious growth trajectory - scaling our operations, investing in our people, and setting new standards across the fire safety sector.

Operating through our specialist brands - Ventro, Firntec, and HJS - we provide a comprehensive range of fire safety and building compliance solutions including:

  • Active fire protection: fire alarm design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance
  • Passive fire protection: fire stopping, compartmentation surveys, and remediation
  • Façade inspection, assessment, and remediation
  • Fire risk assessments and building compliance consultancy
  • Fire door inspection, maintenance, and replacement

This is a rare opportunity to join Ventro Group’s Passive Fire Division at a pivotal moment in our growth story - and to play a central role in winning the work that keeps our delivery teams busy and our clients safe.

As our Fire Door Estimator, you will be the engine behind our preconstruction capability - producing accurate, competitive, and fully compliant cost estimates for passive fire protection projects across the UK. You’ll sit within our Preconstruction team, reporting to the Sales Manager, and working hand-in-glove with our sales, engineering, and project delivery functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of detailed cost estimates for fire doors, fire stopping, compartmentation, and associated passive fire systems
  • Identify and flag technical risks, scope gaps, and compliance issues before they become problems on site
  • Attend site surveys as required, ensuring your estimates reflect real-world conditions

This is a role with genuine commercial impact. You’ll be influencing project values from £10k to £1m+, and your ability to balance competitiveness with margin is what makes the difference. Numerical precision and analytical thinking are at the heart of this role, alongside proficiency in Excel and estimating software. A solid understanding of passive fire protection - fire stopping, compartmentation, fire doors, and coatings - is essential, as is familiarity with Building Regulations Part B and the British Standards that underpin compliant fire safety delivery. You’ll need to understand construction pricing structures across labour, materials, and subcontractor costs.

We’re looking for a proven estimator with a track record of producing accurate, competitive bids in a construction environment - ideally with exposure to passive fire protection or fire stopping. You’ll be comfortable working from drawings, specifications, and full tender packages, and you’ll know what it feels like to work to real commercial deadlines. Experience conducting site surveys, working cross-functionally with sales and delivery teams, or managing a multi-project tender pipeline would all strengthen your application considerably.

Above all, we want someone who takes genuine pride in the quality and accuracy of their work - someone who holds themselves accountable without needing to be chased. A continuous improvement mindset, commercial awareness, and the ability to stay calm and effective when the tender calendar gets busy are the hallmarks of someone who will thrive in this role.

Right from the Start - Get it right first time, take pride in quality, and always deliver for the customer.
