Why This Role Will Accelerate Your Career
This isn’t just another estimating or sales support position - it’s your chance to be at the commercial heart of our rapidly expanding passive fire protection business. You’ll work directly with the sales team and technical specialists, providing the accurate, competitive estimates that win projects and drive growth. Join a focused, collaborative team where thoughtful communication and mutual support drive success. Our close‑knit environment values deep work and meaningful collaboration, creating the perfect setting for strategic thinking and delivering exceptional results.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be responsible for producing accurate and competitive estimates for passive fire protection projects across the UK. This includes fire stopping systems, fire resistant boards and partitions, intumescent coatings, fire doors, cavity barriers, and compartmentation solutions. You’ll review architectural drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to calculate material requirements, labour costs, and project timelines. As a Sales Support Executive, you’ll work closely with the sales team to respond to enquiries, prepare quotations, and support tender submissions. You’ll conduct site surveys when required, take off quantities from drawings, and liaise with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing. Your role includes maintaining our estimating databases, updating price lists, and ensuring all estimates align with fire safety compliance requirements including Building Regulations Part B and relevant British Standards. You’ll collaborate with project managers, fire engineers and installation teams to ensure estimates are both competitive and deliverable. Your attention to detail will be crucial in identifying project risks, highlighting technical requirements and ensuring nothing is missed. You’ll also support the sales team with technical queries, product specifications and help develop pricing strategies that position us ahead of competitors. The role demands someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment – you’ll be managing multiple estimate requests while maintaining the accuracy and speed that win projects. Your analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills will be essential in delivering estimates that balance competitiveness with profitability.
What We’re Looking For
We need someone with proven estimating experience in passive fire protection, fire stopping or the construction industry. You should be comfortable reading technical drawings and specifications, have excellent numerical skills and be proficient with estimating software and MS Office Suite (particularly Excel). Experience with construction estimating tools and CRM systems would be advantageous. Knowledge of passive fire protection systems, fire stopping products, compartmentation principles and Building Regulations Part B will set you apart. Understanding of fire safety compliance requirements and relevant British Standards is desirable. You’ll need strong communication skills to work effectively with sales teams, suppliers and technical colleagues. Most importantly, you need the drive to succeed in a deadline‑driven environment where accuracy and responsiveness are paramount.
