Ventro, a national leader in fire safety, passive fire protection, and building compliance, is recruiting a Senior Commercial Analyst to drive commercial performance across multiple high-value projects. This is a senior, high-impact role for someone with strong commercial leadership, advanced financial analysis, and proven experience improving profitability, margins, and cost control within a construction or compliance environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a commercial team (Junior Analysts + Commercial Administrator), ensuring capability growth, accountability, and high performance.
  • Own project profitability across fire compliance works, including GP management, cost control, commercial governance, and financial accuracy.
  • Manage subcontractor sourcing and negotiation, securing competitive rates across fire stopping, fire doors, passive fire protection, and associated trades.
  • Produce and oversee budgets, Bills of Materials, and detailed commercial cost reports for Project Managers.
  • Lead commercial negotiations on uplifts/extras with a target of 10% improvement.
  • Identify, manage, and escalate commercial risks, variances, and red flags in line with Ventro’s reporting thresholds.
  • Oversee cash flow, debtors, and commercial compliance to strengthen financial performance across the Business Unit.
  • Achieve and maintain target Contribution Margins (48% Go-Live, 5% improvement).
  • Prepare and issue monthly valuations and invoices, ensuring billing aligns with contract requirements and is completed by month-end.
  • Ensure invoices are issued promptly post-month-end to reduce accrued income (target 80%).
  • Review, challenge, and validate forecasts, ensuring accurate and reliable commercial reporting.
  • Manage senior-level HR responsibilities including 1-1s, leave approval, performance management, and coaching.
  • Resolve escalated commercial issues within the team to maintain workflow and avoid escalation to senior leadership.
