Office-based. Commercial. No site travel. This is commercial construction without the daily site run. A fully office-based role in our Nottingham hub, taking financial control of a portfolio of fire safety and refurbishment projects. Not a traditional QS role. You won't be measuring on site - you'll own the commercial performance: budgets, margins, variations, subcontract accounts and cash flow, from pre-start to final account.

What you'll do

  • Own the commercial performance of multiple projects, pre-start to final account
  • Build and maintain budgets, cost plans and forecasts
  • Control costs and protect margin
  • Manage variations, valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
  • Procure subcontractors, agree packages, negotiate rates and certify payments
  • Produce weekly GP reports and monthly CVR
  • Support cash flow, invoicing and credit control
  • Resolve commercial issues with clients and subcontractors

What you'll bring

  • Commercial experience in construction - QS, commercial or project finance
  • A track record of managing project costs and hitting budgets
  • Confidence handling subcontractors and negotiations
  • Strong Excel and financial reporting
  • Refurbishment, retrofit, fire protection or social housing background (desirable)
  • A QS or commercial management qualification (desirable)
