Contract Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday

Ventro, Firntec and LivGreen are an exciting group of companies focused on fire-safety services and net zero retrofit. As a Purchasing Assistant you will work closely and effectively with the purchasing team, in order to support our project managers ensure a timely delivery of stock to customer sites.. You will have to be confident in negotiations and talking with a variety or suppliers to achieve the best possible price on fire safety products – we will provide full training on product knowledge!

Key Skills / Responsibilities:

  • Managing own projects independently when ordering bespoke fire doors
  • Creating a bill of quantities from an estimate to forecast material needed for a project
  • Reactive based purchasing for onsite orders
  • Creating a bill of quantities from an estimate to forecast material needed for a project
  • Completing thorough reviews on bespoke door orders prior to production to ensure accuracy
  • Monitoring budgets and spend to maximise GP
  • Liaising with suppliers and internal departments
  • Negotiate pricing with suppliers
  • Conducting supplier reviews
  • Purchasing per project based on the bill of quantities within the budget set
  • Reactive purchasing based on on-site requisitions
  • Meeting deadlines for goods to get to site
  • Resolving account queries and ordering issues
  • Conducting tender and rebate reviews with suppliers to ensure optimal pricing

The successful candidate must:

  • Previous buying experience, construction-based buying experience is advantageous
  • A background in Fire Safety is desirable
  • Have great attention to detail
  • Have excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Data entry skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
