The Opportunity
Be at the commercial heart of our rapidly expanding Electrical & Security Division. You'll produce accurate, competitive estimates that win projects and drive growth across integrated security and electrical installations throughout the UK. Work directly with specialist sales personnel and contract managers in a focused, collaborative environment where thoughtful communication and strategic thinking deliver exceptional results.
What You'll Do
- Produce accurate estimates for integrated security systems, electrical works, and fire protection projects
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to calculate materials, labour, and timelines
- Conduct site surveys, take off quantities, and liaise with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing
- Support tender submissions and respond to complex enquiries across multiple disciplines
- Maintain estimating databases and ensure compliance with industry standards (SSAIB, NSI, Building Regulations Part B)
- Collaborate with project managers, security consultants, engineers, and installation teams
- Identify project risks, highlight technical requirements, and support pricing strategy development
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Proven estimating experience in the security industry
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with estimating software and MS Office Suite (particularly Excel)
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and analytical thinking skills
- Drive to succeed in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Highly Desirable:
- Experience with security systems: access control, door entry, CCTV, intruder alarms, integrated platforms & warden call
- Knowledge of fire protection systems and compartmentation principles
- Understanding of industry standards (NSI, SSAIB, ASDA, Building Regulations Part B, British Standards)
- Experience with construction estimating tools and CRM systems
