Why This Role Will Accelerate Your Career

This isn't just another bid management or tender response position - it's your chance to be at the commercial heart of a rapidly expanding fire protection business. You'll work directly with senior leadership, influence major strategic decisions, and see the immediate impact of your work on company growth. Join a focused, collaborative team where thoughtful communication and mutual support drive success. Our close-knit environment values deep work and meaningful collaboration, creating the perfect setting for strategic thinking and delivering exceptional bid outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll manage the complete bid lifecycle from opportunity identification through to contract handover. This includes monitoring OJEU portals, responding to PQQs (Pre-Qualification Questionnaires), ITTs (Invitations to Tender), RFPs (Requests for Proposal), and RFQs (Requests for Quotation). You'll lead proposal development, coordinate tender responses, and craft compelling bid writing materials for fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, fire suppression, fire detection, and passive and active fire protection solutions. As a Bid Manager, you'll develop bid strategy and win strategy approaches while working closely with cross-functional teams across fire engineering, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), and building services. You'll provide business development support, manage pricing strategy, and present recommendations to senior leadership. Your role includes technical writing for complex fire safety systems including FM200/Novec systems, ensuring fire safety compliance with NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) and BS 5839 (British Standard for fire alarms) requirements. You'll attend client meetings, lead site visits, conduct stakeholder management, and build the bid libraries that will drive future success. Your compliance management expertise will ensure all submissions meet fire certification standards and industry regulations. You'll also support contract negotiation processes and maintain our bid management software and CRM systems. The role demands someone who thrives under pressure - you'll be juggling multiple deadlines while maintaining the high standards that win contracts. Your strategic thinking and exceptional proposal writer skills will be crucial in positioning us ahead of competitors. Experience in pre-sales activities, tender management, and fire risk assessment knowledge will be highly valued.

What We're Looking For

We need someone with proven bid management, proposal management, or tender coordination experience and a track record of winning proposals in the fire safety, fire protection, or construction industry. You should be comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, have excellent technical writing and communication skills, and be proficient with MS Office Suite, SharePoint, and ideally InDesign for proposal formatting. Experience with bid management software and CRM systems is essential. Knowledge of fire safety systems, life safety systems, fire engineering principles, and building services will set you apart. Understanding of fire safety compliance requirements, NFPA standards, and BS 5839 regulations is desirable. Most importantly, you need the drive to succeed in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Don't have bid management experience yet? We're also recruiting for Bid Writer positions. If you're earlier in your bid career but excited about this opportunity, please apply and we'll consider you for the appropriate role.
