We are seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager specialising in fire dampers, passive fire protection, and compliance services. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business, developing, and managing key client relationships, pricing their own sales opportunities, and driving revenue across fire safety inspection, maintenance, remedial works, and installation services. This is a London based role.
Main Duties are but not limited to:
- Business Development & Sales
- Identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities across fire damper inspections, passive fire surveys, fire stopping, and remedial works.
- Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations, proposals, and tender submissions.
- Meet and exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
- Prepare costings and pricing for own opportunities, including labour, materials, access, and compliance requirements.
- Client Relationship Management
- Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers including asset managers, compliance managers, building managers, and procurement teams.
- Understand client requirements, compliance obligations, and building-specific challenges to provide tailored fire safety solutions.
- Conduct regular account reviews and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Technical & Industry Knowledge
- Maintain strong understanding of fire damper regulations, BS 9999, BS 9991, HTM 05-02, and passive fire compliance requirements.
- Provide technical guidance on fire damper testing, inspection reports, remedial actions, and certification routes.
- Support internal teams by relaying accurate client specifications and project requirements.
- Coordination & Reporting
- Work closely with operational, estimating, and surveying teams to ensure accurate pricing and project scoping.
- Track sales performance, pipeline forecasting, and market activity.
- Provide regular reports to senior management and input into overall business strategy.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in B2B business development within fire safety, passive fire, M&E, or FM services.
- Strong knowledge of fire dampers, fire stopping, compartmentation, and associated compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships and manage accounts at multiple levels.
- Competency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and proposal writing.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience selling fire damper inspection/remedial services and/or passive fire installation works.
- Knowledge of relevant British Standards, Approved Document B, and industry codes of practice.
- Driving license and willingness to travel within the region.
