We know it can sometimes be hard to find a job and volunteering isn’t always practical or affordable, so Brave Island is really excited to have teamed up with a range of different organisations to offer a number of paid placements. The Maritime Museum Assistant Placement is a six month opportunity hosted by The Maritime Archaeology Trust at The Shipwreck Centre & Maritime Museum. We’re looking for a young person interested in learning more about working within a museum. The placement holder will learn about the different roles involved in running a small museum with a focus on marketing and collections.

Practical info
This placement is open to those aged 18-25 for the duration of the placement. It is one day per week for 6 months, and you will be paid a stipend of £100/day. You will have the opportunity to work across, or choose between, the established Shipwreck Centre & Maritime Museum in Arreton and the new unopened future museum site in Yarmouth. Opportunity Date & Time
