Role Purpose
To provide senior finance leadership and execution capability across the organisation, translating
COO-led financial strategy into robust operating plans, models and programmes. The Head of
Finance, based in Jersey, will take full accountability for the delivery of finance objectives, lead and develop the finance team, and act as a key business partner to the COO by assuming ownership of day-to-day financial execution.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Strategy Execution
- Own the translation of the COO's financial strategy into detailed, actionable plans and programmes of work.
- Build, maintain and continuously improve financial models that underpin business planning and decision-making.
- Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of all finance objectives, managing milestones, dependencies and risks proactively.
- Lead the rollout of finance operations across primary jurisdictions.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead all budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes across the business.
- Provide high-quality financial analysis, management information and insight to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop KPI frameworks and reporting structures that give leadership timely, accurate visibility of financial performance.
- Identify trends, risks and opportunities through rigorous analysis of financial data.
Governance, Controls & Compliance
- Ensure full regulatory and statutory compliance across all relevant jurisdictions, including in country regulatory frameworks.
- Maintain a robust internal control environment and continuously assess and mitigate financial risk.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure accounting practices and financial reporting are in line with applicable standards.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, inspire and develop the Finance team β acting as an advocate for their wellbeing, professional growth and performance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, precision and continuous improvement within the team.
- Set clear objectives for team members and manage performance with transparency and fairness.
- Represent the Finance team with integrity at all levels of the organisation.
Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary finance business partner to the COO, providing proactive financial support and challenge.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations and other business areas to align financial and operational priorities.
- Communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Build trusted relationships quickly across the business and with external partners.
- Support asset-level financial analysis and reporting in line with the organisations real estate investment activity.
Operational Excellence
- Identify inefficiencies and operational weaknesses within the Finance function and design and implement solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, systems and ways of working.
- Manage special projects and initiatives as directed by the COO, with full ownership from planning through to delivery.
Person Specification
Experience & Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent); strong post-qualification experience in a senior finance leadership role.
- Proven track record of strategy execution and delivery within a complex, fast-paced Real Estate environment.
- Experience operating across multiple jurisdictions; knowledge of UK, Luxembourg and Jersey regulatory frameworks highly advantageous.
- Background in privately held property / real estate businesses is desirable.
- Demonstrable experience of financial modelling, planning and analysis at a senior level.
- People leadership experience with a genuine commitment to developing and advocating for teams.
